Jeep Expansion Tank

As the Jeep’s engine heats up, the coolant inside it expands. Hence, the Jeep
expansion tank is very much necessary. Jeep expansion tank, also referred to as
Jeep overflow tank, coolant reservoir or overflow canister is a container that
provides storage space for the coolant when it expands. This is connected to the
overflow tube of the radiator.
A vacuum is created in the Jeep cooling system when the engine cools, which causes
some of the coolant in the Jeep expansion tube to be sucked back into the system.
Since the cooling system with a Jeep expansion tube is virtually a closed system,
the coolant can flow between the system and the expansion tank as it expands and
contracts. In this manner, there would be no coolant lost once the system is
functioning properly. Without the Jeep expansion tank, the coolant would flow
out of the overflow tube and be lost from the cooling system onto the street.
Moreover, the Jeep expansion tank of all Jeep vehicle models, like the Jeep Cherokee,
Jeep Compass, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Commander removes air bubbles
from the cooling system. The rationale behind this fact is that coolant without
air bubbles is much more efficient than coolant with air bubbles, because it absorbs
heat much faster.
While the level of coolant in Jeep expansion tank rises and falls, the radiator
on the other hand is always full. Replacement Jeep expansion tank can easily be
fitted by mounting the tank near the radiator, connecting it to the overflow tube,
and replacing the radiator cap. The Jeep expansion tank is available in quality
brands, such as the IK Multimedia and the RC2 Jeep expansion tanks.
