Jeep Fan Clutch
The vehicle’s radiator needs a fan that would spin speedily to give enough air
for cooling the engine. However, during hot season that radiator fan does not
move fast enough; hence, very small amount of cool air gets in the radiator, and
the engine isn’t cooled properly. To restore the efficient engine performance,
Jeep fan clutch is fitted with the radiator fan.
Jeep fan clutch is a small fluid mixture with a thermostatic apparatus and is
designed to be in command of a variable speed fan. It is a mechanism by which
the engine fan can be engaged and disengaged from engine power. This ensures that
the radiator fan will run or spin at the proper speed to prevent the engine from
overheating, and to decrease drive to the fan when it is no longer needed.
The Jeep fan clutch is filled with fluid mixture that is partly made up of silicone
oil needed to perform its function. The fluid mixture has to remain sealed inside
for proper operation. As the temperature of the air that passes through the radiator
gets higher, the Jeep fan clutch commands a bimetal coil spring to expand. Once
it expands, it lets a little more oil to come into the fluid coupling before the
Jeep fan clutch start to rotate the fan.
Generally, a well functioning Jeep fan clutch contributes to the efficient performance
of the cooling system. Thus, Jeep vehicle models, like the Jeep Cherokee, Jeep
Compass, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Commander, and a lot more great models
are equipped with premium-grade Jeep fan clutch from popular brands, such as Hayden
and Flexalite. The Hayden Jeep fan clutch and Flexalite Jeep fan clutch are both
precision-engineered to help the radiator fan spin faster than the engine pulley
itself; thereby increasing the airflow dramatically.
