Jeep Ignition Control System

The Jeep ignition control system can be divided into two electrical circuits
– the primary and the secondary. Primary circuit is the part that carries low
voltage. This circuit is only good in operating with direct current and controlled
by the breaker points and the ignition switch. The secondary circuit on the other
hand is where the high tension current set by the distributor moves through to
reach the spark plug.
The basic operation of the Jeep ignition control system has changed a bit over
the years. But the previous innovations over the past years have changed and made
it just more precise and accurate. The basic components of the Jeep ignition
control system are the high voltage ignition wires, the distributor, and the spark
plugs and of course the ignition coil.
Any Jeep can be installed with a Jeep ignition control system that’s produced
by ACCEL and MSD. These two manufacturers provide the Jeep with the technologically
advanced ignition control systems which use the newest strategy for operating.
Unlike the early design of ignition control system, Today’s Jeep ignition control
systems are already of variations. The ACCEL ignition control system for instance,
uses a set of breaker points that makes the on and off switching more accurate.
The ACCEL and the MSD ignition now utilize the latest and most advanced technology
in manufacturing ignition control systems. Their products are now either an electronic
or the computer controlled. These are the two variations that provide unlimited
functions, resulting then into the improvement of the performance of internal
combustion engine system.
