Jeep Shocks
Jeep shocks or shock absorber as it name implies is a mechanical device that
absorbs or dampen any sudden shock impulse and dissipate kinetic energy brought
by it. Jeep shocks are essential parts of the whole suspension system of the vehicle,
in which it reduces the effect of traveling on rough roads or terrains. Without
the shocks, your Jeep would suffer excessive bouncing and may cause other parts
to loosen or dropped off the chassis.

The most common shocks that are used on most Jeep units are the spring type shocks.
These shocks are typically made from heavy torsion bars that are coiled around.
The coil spring shocks compresses and expands in order to absorb the horizontal
motion of the wheels.
Jeep shocks are the devices that control unwanted horizontal motions through
the process called as dampening. Shocks tend to slow down and reduce the degree
of motion by converting the kinetic energy of the other suspension parts into
thermal energy better known as heat. This energy is dissipated through the use
of the hydraulic fluid that is inside the device. Some of the heat energy is released
through the atmosphere by the use of its metal housing.
The Jeep shocks are somewhat similar to oil pumps that are placed between the
tires and the chassis of the Jeep vehicle. The upper end of the shock is connected
to the frame or chassis of the Jeep vehicle while the other end is connected to
the wheel axle. And because the Jeep shocks are connected to the wheel, it also
adds to the handling and control ability of the automobile.
